Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for the Protective Design & Security Practice in the United States. You will lead blast, ballistics and hardening efforts, translating advanced analyses into practical, implementable solutions for diverse facilities.

You will own technical workstreams, interact with clients, and mentor junior staff while advancing the firm’s protective design capabilities across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering; structural dynamics preferred.
• 6+ years in blast engineering, protective design or facility hardening.
• PE license or equivalent; ability to obtain US clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide protective design and physical security consulting for facilities.
• Perform blast loading, structural response and nonlinear analyses.
• Develop design solutions through drawings, models, specs and reports.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security studies.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal tools and practices.
• Build client relationships and support new business opportunities.
