Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Senior Biostatistician II to perform scientific statistical analyses in Global Medicines Development and Affairs with mentoring on complex issues. The role involves designing statistical infrastructure for trials and observational studies, authoring SAPs, and contributing to CSRs and publications.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, plan data reviews, and help ensure timely delivery of results, while developing a broad knowledge base in related disciplines.

Qualifications

• PhD or master's degree in Statistics/Biostatistics.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience for master’s degree holders.
• Experience in drug development and clinical studies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute statistical infrastructure for trials, observational studies or RWD investigations.
• Attend SET meetings as the functional statistician.
• Author SAPs and TFL shells and present to SRF.
• Plan xFDR, KRM and DDP to support data review and dissemination.
• Collaborate with programming and other functions to ensure timely TFL delivery.
• Develop statistical sections of protocols, including sample size and randomization.
• Contribute to CSRs and related publications or posters.
• Implement study-level design and analysis methods and participate in SRF discussions.
• Support departmental projects and mentor on new issues.
