TaskUs is seeking a Senior Biology Specialist to join a life-sciences pod supporting frontier AI. You will review high‑severity biosecurity cases, assess dual‑use risks, and provide defensible annotations to help protect against biological threats.

The role requires an advanced degree and 5+ years in biodefense or BSL‑3 operations, with remote US work and Texas presence preferred. You will mentor junior staff and synthesize findings for risk leads and clients.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in microbiology or related field and 5+ years biodefense or biosecurity experience.
• Ability to apply threat fluency to dual-use scenarios and assess risk.
• Strong scientific writing and communication skills for memos and reports.

Responsibilities

• Review high-severity biosecurity cases escalated from detection systems.
• Apply advanced reasoning to distinguish legitimate research from weaponization.
• Mentor Junior Specialists and conduct QA on casework.
• Document evidence-backed rationales for enforcement actions.
• Generate defensible annotations and risk assessments for clients.
