Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide advanced maintenance and service on biomedical and clinical data/network systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, calibration, and repairs to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.

You will maintain and reference manufacturer literature, support a team, and train staff on equipment operation and safety. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field required or 2 years progressive experience in lieu of degree.
• 1 year progressive experience in electronics/electromechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
• Ability to perform component-level repairs at least 35% of the time.
• Proficient in repair and preventive maintenance of anesthesia machines, anesthetic gas analyzers, blood cell savers, and diagnostic ultrasound machines.
• Knowledge of modern electronic/test equipment and quality control procedures.
• Knowledge of alternative parts sources for electronic/electromechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completes PM workload to achieve high PM compliance.
• Performs safety checks, repairs, and installations on biomedical/communications equipment.
• Procures supplies to service equipment at lowest cost.
• Maintains technical literature and references for biomedical program.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and quality standards for equipment.
• Gives presentations to staff on trends and updates.
• Provides in-service training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
