Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree Biomedical Technician required.
• Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
• Licenses: NH Driver’s license preferred, internal driving record checks.
• 1-2 years biomedical technician experience preferred.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills for team/vendor work.
• Understands electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles.
• Able to learn maintenance and troubleshooting with test equipment and software.
• Able to use computer-based tools for documentation and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Inspects new medical devices for safety and function; assigns control numbers and labels.
• Performs preventive maintenance and safety testing on devices.
• Responds to equipment problems; troubleshoots and resolves issues.
• Repairs devices to component level using test instrumentation and software.
• Participates in equipment evaluations, installations, and upgrades.
• Conducts rounds to assess device operation in clinical areas.
• Instructs staff on testing, calibration, preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Documents inspections, repairs, maintenance procedures, and teaching activities.
