Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Senior R&D Scientist in Biomaterials for its DePuy Synthes Orthopaedics group, located in Warsaw, IN or West Chester, PA. You will lead biomaterials research, develop new materials, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance medical devices through the full product lifecycle.

The role requires a strong background in chemistry/biomaterials, experience with regulatory submissions, and a track record of technical leadership across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Six years of biomaterials-based medical devices or combination products development/test experience.
• MS in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent; PhD preferred.
• Experience with medical device regulations (GMP, QSR, ISO) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in biomaterials science and chemical test methods.
• Lead cross-functional project core teams across lifecycle stages.
• Develop testing protocols and validate new biomaterials technologies.
• Support regulatory filings and product development for orthopaedic devices.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and supply chain teams.
• Contribute to IP development and technical documentation.
