Job summary

Veracyte is seeking an experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics and Data Science Team focused on developing regulated diagnostics products. You will lead design, development and validation of NGS-based assays in a regulatory environment (CAP/CLIA, FDA).

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in bioinformatics, computational biology, or an adjacent data science field.
• 6–7 years of bioinformatics experience in analysis, algorithm development, and pipeline implementation.
• Thorough understanding of NGS technologies and library prep methods (WGS, enrichment, RNA-Seq, methylation).
• Proficiency in quantitative transcriptomics from NGS data in human disease.
• Proficiency in machine learning and development of bioinformatics methodologies.
• Experience deploying bioinformatics workflows in AWS (EC2, S3, Step Functions).
• Strong Python skills with SDLC best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioinformatics design, development, and validation for new and on-market products.
• Develop scalable, production-grade workflows for high-throughput NGS data analysis in AWS.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and engineering teams to deploy production pipelines.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (CAP/CLIA, FDA, IVDR) throughout development.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and audits with validation reports.
• Mentor junior bioinformatics team members.
