Job summary

City of Hope seeks a Senior Manager, Biobank Operations for the Henderson Biorepository. You will provide high-level oversight of life cycle management of human biospecimens, ensuring quality and compliance across biobank functions to support research operations.

Success requires leadership, experience managing biobanks, LIMS proficiency, HIPAA/IRB/CITI adherence, and a focus on ethics, traceability, and customer experience for researchers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any natural science; 3 additional years of experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a human biobank in an academic, research or commercial environment and knowledge of ISBER and NCI Biobank Best Practices.
• 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for biospecimen inventory and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Management Oversight: Lead biobank budget stewardship and cost-recovery strategy; partner with shared resource leadership to design and refine biobanking services; drive strategic planning, KPI visibility, and continuity.
