Job summary

GRAIL is seeking a Manager, Biorepository Operations to provide leadership for on-site and off-site biorepository operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence across a ~1 million specimen inventory. This hands-on, on-site role requires engagement with specimen management activities and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in biorepository environments, track record of managing large inventories, and experience with CAP/CLIA regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Typically requires 8+ years of relevant laboratory or biorepository experience, including 3–5 years in supervision.
• Experience managing large-scale biorepository operations and biological specimen inventories.
• Strong knowledge of biorepository best practices, cold chain, and chain-of-custody processes.
• Experience with CAP Biorepository Accreditation Program requirements and accreditation readiness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily biorepository operations including receipt, accessioning, processing, storage, retrieval, and disposal of specimens.
• Manage inventory for approximately 1 million specimens across on-site and off-site locations.
• Liaise with domestic and international third-party storage vendors to ensure service quality and compliance.
• Ensure accurate chain-of-custody documentation and specimen traceability.
• Lead and develop biorepository staff, including performance management and career development.
