Amazon Health Services seeks a Senior System Analyst to operationalize the financial engine powering healthcare billing. You will translate complex billing requirements into configurable system rules ensuring accurate encounters and scalable automated workflows.

You will bridge business intent and system behavior, owning the logic for charges, claim construction, and payer rules, impacting every bill sent out. This role transforms legacy processes with data-driven, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science), or experience with SQL
• 5+ years of experience in system analysis, business analysis, or technical configurations — with a focus on translating business requirements into functional specifications
• Experience with documenting accounting conclusions, or experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions

Responsibilities

• Partner with billing operations, finance, and clinical stakeholders to understand complex billing requirements and translate them into scalable, logical functional specifications that power the billing engine
• Define and maintain billing rules, payer‑specific configurations, and charge logic that drive accurate claim generation
• Use data analysis to identify billing defects, revenue leakage patterns, and configuration gaps — prioritize work by financial impact, not squeaky‑wheel urgency
• Build and maintain reporting and monitoring to validate system behavior and catch issues proactively. Maintain documentation of business rules, configuration decisions, and system dependencies
• Identify opportunities to replace manual workflows with systematic, rules‑based automation — reducing human error and accelerating throughput
• Design scalable processes that accommodate new service lines, payer contracts, and business models without bespoke rework
• Work with engineering to ensure requirements are implementable, testable, and maintainable; participate in design discussions and QA validation
