Job summary

Philo, a streaming service for TV and movies, seeks a Senior Business Insights Analyst to drive high-impact decision-making through rigorous analysis, trusted metrics, and cross-functional partnership. You will own recurring KPI reporting and tackle ambiguous ad-hoc questions, presenting clear, decision-ready recommendations to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in business insights, analytics, strategy analytics, finance analytics, BI, or closely related function.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with large-scale behavioral, subscription, billing, financial, or operational data sets.
• Strong experience building data visualizations and self-serve reporting in BI tools (Mode, Omni, Tableau, Looker, etc).
• Proven ability to translate vague business questions into clear analyses, sharp recommendations, and polished narratives.
• Excellent spreadsheet skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong fundamentals in cohort, funnel, segmentation, retention and churn analysis, KPI design, forecasting support, and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve core business scorecards, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses to monitor subscriber growth, revenue, billing health, retention, and monetization trends.
• Translate ambiguous questions into structured analytical plans, findings, and actionable recommendations.
• Build expertise in Philo's billing/subscription ecosystem: trials, conversion, renewals, churn, reactivation, plan migration, add-ons, refunds, and direct vs. partner billing.
• Identify levers to improve subscriber health and revenue retention across the lifecycle.
• Partner with Growth and Lifecycle Marketing on acquisition quality, funnel performance, cohort health, and promotional effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data Science on customer journey analysis and feature adoption.
• Work with Content/Marketing to understand channels and viewing patterns driving acquisition and engagement.
• Support customer-facing teams with insights into billing friction and account issues.
• Create executive-ready materials that connect numbers to narrative for decision-making.
• Improve data quality by partnering on instrumentation, metric governance, and source-of-truth logic.
• Raise analytical bar via documentation and prioritization.
