Job summary

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York seeks a Client Account Manager to lead the billing and collections for its practice groups, ensuring invoices align with client agreements and firm policies. The role collaborates with partners, practice groups, and finance teams to maintain accuracy and timeliness in billing.

You will manage a team, drive process improvements across the revenue cycle, train staff, and provide monthly reporting and strategic insights to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
• 7+ years of relevant billing and client relationship experience at a professional service firm or law firm.
• 3+ years in a manager role.
• Experience with Aderant is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee billing and collection process to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payment of clients for assigned practice groups or offices.
• Monitor monthly aging AR reports and follow up on underpayments and resolutions.
• Audit invoices to identify errors and address training or development gaps.
• Ensure documentation of partner and client requirements to enable streamlined collaboration.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency and accuracy and implement improvements.
