Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of billing and client relationship experience at a professional services firm or law firm required; experience with partners or senior stakeholders preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word to produce polished, partner-ready materials.
• Excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills for interactions with partners, attorneys, clients, and senior professionals.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new billing systems and partner/client preferences.
• Collegial, dependable team player who builds trust and contributes to a collaborative environment.
• receptive to feedback and able to learn from corrections, including guidance from partners.
• Highly detail-oriented with foundational knowledge of billing and collections.
• Polished, white-glove customer service for internal and external clients.
• Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgement, and elevate issues when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the billing and collection process for assigned partners, practice groups, and offices.
• Monitor aging AR reports and direct follow-up to ensure on-time payments.
• Update key finance reports daily to support senior management.
• Develop understanding of complex billing processes for timely and accurate billing.
• Follow up with partners on billing issues and delays with the Client Account Manager.
• Respond to billing inquiries and prepare accurate bills with detailed narratives and transfers.
• Advise partners by reviewing engagements and understanding billing arrangements and frequencies.
• Obtain and review engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines for compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate invoices and reporting.
• Lead regular AR meetings with partners, acting as primary billing and collections contact.
• Monitor bill processing status and perform necessary follow-up.
• Ensure successful submission of e-billing via Billblast or client vendor.
• Collaborate with Revenue Operations to improve billing processes.
• Support the team’s day-to-day operations in line with firm policies.
