Job summary

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP invites a Client Account Specialist to take ownership of billing and collection strategy for assigned partners or offices. You will work with partners and Finance teams to ensure timely, accurate invoicing and prompt payment while complying with client outside counsel guidelines.

Reporting to the Client Account Manager, you will monitor AR aging, update key reports, and prepare precise bills with detailed narratives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of billing and client relationship experience at a professional services firm or law firm.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word and ability to produce polished partner-ready materials.
• Excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive billing and collection process for assigned partners, groups, and offices.
• Monitor aging AR reports and ensure invoices are paid on time; direct follow-up on underpayments.
• Update finance reports daily to support senior management with high-quality data.
• Prepare accurate bills with narrative descriptions and client requirement alignment.
• Lead regular UBT/AR meetings and serve as primary billing/collections contact for partners.
• Collaborate with Pricing Operations and ebilling to ensure accurate invoices and reporting.
• Assist with ad hoc client analysis projects and portfolio management.
