Render is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Billing team, owning usage-based billing systems, data flow, and invoicing. You will partner with Finance, Product, and Customer Experience to shape multi-quarter strategy and drive reliable, accurate charges as the customer base grows.

The role demands a seasoned technical leader who can build the organization, set direction, and scale the team while maintaining billing accuracy and customer trust in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling engineering teams, including senior and staff engineers.
• Hands-on with billing, payments, or revenue-critical systems.
• Ability to align engineering plans with Finance, Product and Customer Experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Billing engineering team responsible for usage capture, data pipelines and invoicing.
• Own the roadmap from usage metering to invoicing, reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Drive billing correctness with monitoring, reconciliation and testing to prevent errors.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product and Customer Experience to align roadmap with pricing and needs.
• Hire and develop engineers, maintaining clear focus as billing scope expands.
• Make architectural decisions balancing long-term investment with near-term pricing launches.
• Build performance management and career development for senior ICs.
