Job summary

A/Z Corporation is seeking a Sr Billing Specialist to oversee complex invoicing, manage cash flow and ensure contract compliance across projects.

You will lead monthly billing packages, review contracts, and act as a subject matter expert on billing operations. You will partner with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate rates, timely invoicing, and effective dispute resolution, contributing to optimized revenue recognition and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years billing or AR experience.
• Construction industry billing experience preferred.
• Experience with lump sum, AIA, government contracts, or T&M.
• Experience with Sage, CMiC, Oracle, or similar ERP.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly billing packages for assigned projects and customers.
• Review customer contracts to ensure billing aligns with terms and schedules.
• Process complex invoices, time and materials billings, and other billing transactions in the ERP/Accounting system.
• Serve as primary contact for escalated billing inquiries and disputes.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate project setup, rates, and change orders.
• Monitor billing schedules to maximize cash flow and ensure timely invoicing.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to billing/AR.
• Generate billing reports and KPIs for management review.
• Identify process improvements and mentor junior staff.
