Job summary

The City of New Orleans Government is seeking a capable director to oversee the Billing and Accounts Receivables Department, ensuring accurate billing, reimbursement, and accounts receivable processes while maintaining compliance and privacy standards. The role also oversees billing hearings and reports to the Chief Customer Service Officer.

You will lead mid- and lower-level managers, plan and assign work, and provide executive guidance to staff, serving as a key member of the leadership team.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Six (6) years of professional, salaried, administrative experience in a similar role.
• At least two (2) years of this experience must have included supervising a professional staff engaged in Billing, Collections, Bankruptcy and/or Customer Service work, and monitoring and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Direct all activities relating to the Billing and Accounts Receivables Department.
• Monitor and manage all functional areas of the billing office, including billing, reimbursement, accounts receivable, and related compliance and privacy requirements.
• Oversee the overall performance of SWBNO's billing hearing functions.
• Serve as second in command to the Chief Customer Service Officer; plan, assign and review work of mid- and lower-level managers; provide leadership, personnel and technical guidance to staff.
