Wheeler, located in Manchester, CT, seeks a Senior Counselor to deliver home-based services for families involved with DCF. The role focuses on safety, stability, and child well-being, with supervision towards licensure and opportunities for growth.

The position offers a $4,000 sign-on bonus (half paid at hire and half at one year), a bilingual requirement (Spanish/English) with a $2,288 annual bilingual stipend, and an hourly rate of $23.08.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field is required.
• Previous experience working with client population with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Effective time management, strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops case management plans and coordinates care for clients and families.
• Provides front line crisis support by phone, in-home, and in the community.
• Provides group, individual, and family counseling with supervision.
• Maintains records and documentation for Medicaid and licensing compliance.
• Conducts safety planning and crisis intervention and participates in supervision.
