Job summary

Wheeler Clinic in Hartford, CT seeks a Senior Counselor to deliver comprehensive, short-term, home-based services to families involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). You will support safety, stability and functioning, provide psychoeducation, parenting support, and case management as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes a $4,000 sign-on bonus, half paid on hire and half after one year, and an hourly rate of $23.08.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field is required.
• Experience with clients with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Effective time management and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops case management plans and coordinates care for assigned families.
• Provides front line crisis support to individuals and families in home or community settings.
• Provides individual, group and family counseling with supervision and coordinates treatment phases.
• Maintains documentation for client records in accordance with timelines and regulatory requirements.
• Supports safety planning and crisis intervention with appropriate supervision.
