insightsoftware is seeking a Lead Engineer in Reporting/BI Engineering to own the day-to-day technical leadership of a small scrum team focused on the Certent Equity Management platform for a large, strategic enterprise client engagement. You will balance hands-on work with team leadership and interface directly with client stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

8-10+ years of hands-on software engineering in BI, reporting, and SQL development in enterprise SaaS environments.
Deep Oracle SQL and PL/SQL expertise with tuning and optimization.
Experience with enterprise BI tooling (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos) and data modeling for BI consumption.
Proven track record as technical lead / lead engineer, setting priorities and delivering.
AI-first engineering mindset with hands-on tooling and driving AI adoption within teams.
Experience managing a small team of engineers and conducting performance conversations.
Familiarity with Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, Azure) and full-stack technical discussions.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for your scrum team and ensure high-quality reporting solutions on schedule.
Write, review, and contribute production-quality code across BI and reporting stack (SQL, Oracle, application tier).
Lead sprint ceremonies and manage day-to-day coordination of the team.
Set daily priorities, unblock teammates, and resolve technical ambiguity.
Maintain engineering standards including query performance benchmarks and definition of done.
