Job summary

Medline in Northbrook, IL is seeking a hands-on Sr BI Developer/Analyst to join our IT and BI team. You will design, build and maintain dashboards, data models and data pipelines across warehouse, transportation and ERP systems to support supply chain KPIs.

You will translate business questions into metrics, collaborate with stakeholders and IT, and migrate legacy reports to modern cloud platforms while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Data Science or related field.
• 4+ years of BI development or data analytics for supply chain, distribution, or logistics operations.
• Advanced SQL skills with relational databases and large datasets.
• Experience with Tableau, WebFOCUS, SSIS or Alteryx, migrating legacy reports to cloud platform.
• Hands-on Power BI experience, including data modeling, DAX and report design.
• Python or PySpark for data preparation and analysis.
• Experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders and turning them into reports and data models.
• Knowledge of core operations and supply chain metrics and how they are calculated.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to executives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Act as the BI contact for operational areas and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
• Lead requirements sessions and translate questions into metric definitions and designs.
• Map workflows and data flows; document processes and suggest improvements.
• Liaise between business partners and IT development teams on data solutions.
• Design, build and maintain Tableau and Power BI dashboards and reports for KPIs like on-time delivery, fill rate, cycle time, inventory accuracy, etc.
• Write performant SQL and build data models and semantic models on large datasets.
• Develop and maintain data transformations and pipelines in Microsoft Fabric and Azure with data engineers.
• Develop and maintain web apps using .NET technology.
• Migrate legacy reports (WebFOCUS, SSIS) to cloud platforms.
• Own test planning and validation; ensure correctness before production.
• Document metric definitions, data lineage and report logic; contribute to development standards.
• Train users and drive adoption of new reports.
