Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. BIE to own a major Accounting BI workstream, guiding technical direction and mentoring engineers. You will drive AI-driven automation, build scalable frameworks, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted financial insights.

You will lead the BI strategy, design scalable data pipelines, and ensure high quality, auditable results that support global accounting operations. Strong SQL, Python, AWS, and AI tooling experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional or military experience.
• 5+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
• 5+ years in Data Analyst, Data Engineer, BI Analyst, or similar role
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math/Statistics/Economics
• Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) datasets
• Experience with AWS technologies
• Experience in scripting for automation (Python) and advanced SQL skills
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in academic or professional settings

Responsibilities

• Lead an Accounting workstream and partner with non-technical stakeholders to define processes and metrics.
• Define BI and AI development strategy, driving GenAI adoption while maintaining controllership.
• Design and build reusable BI/ETL and GenAI frameworks for scale across Accounting BIEs.
• Own the BI Python codebase and end-to-end automation frameworks integrating AWS and data services.
• Lead design and code reviews and mentor junior engineers to raise standards.
• Collaborate with Accounting Data Engineering, Fintech SDMs, and Technical PMs to align BI with upstream roadmaps.
