Job summary

Amazon is seeking a data engineering professional to support its Accounting BI team. You will automate reporting, build scalable data platforms, and enable timely financial insights across the organization.

The role blends back-end and front-end work, leveraging AWS services and modern data tools to empower business units with actionable analytics. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, delivering robust data architectures, scalable UI/data tooling, and best practices across the software

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Responsibilities

• Identify and scope the right data architecture and technology to facilitate analysis of Amazon customer behavioral questions.
• Partner engineering teams to enhance UI solutions, data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights via BI tools.
• Design, build and implement the right solutions using AWS and similar technologies.
• Enable large-scale solutions using Python, React, JavaScript, Typescript and AWS services.
• Establish technology best practices across the organization.
• Work on proofs of concepts for adoption of new technology and tools
