Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Senior BI Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of the enterprise analytics architecture.

This role focuses on Power BI, semantic modeling, data architecture, and BI development standards to support operational, financial, and executive reporting. You will mentor BI developers, establish technical standards, and guide the growth of our Microsoft Fabric analytics environment while partnering with Data Engineering and business stakeholders to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with extensive BI experience.
• 10+ years in BI/analytics engineering or data warehousing.
• 6+ years hands-on Power BI with semantic modeling.
• 3+ years in lead/architect roles with standards responsibility.
• Experience with Fabric, Azure data services, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, governance, and optimization of analytics architecture.
• Define data models, security, deployment, and lifecycle standards.
• Architect scalable analytics to support reports for all levels.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to align data architecture with BI.
• Design dataflows, semantic models, DAX measures, and refreshs.
• Maintain RBAC and access controls across environments.
• Monitor Fabric usage and BI ecosystem performance.
• Mentor BI developers and enforce coding standards.
• Develop architecture docs, data definitions, and governance.
• Advise leadership on BI strategy and future state decisions.
