Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Senior BI Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise analytics architecture.

The role acts as the technical authority for Power BI, semantic modeling, data architecture, and BI development standards, partnering with Data Engineering and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Power BI, data modeling, SQL, and Microsoft Fabric, with the ability to influence direction, solve complex challenges, and grow

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Data Analytics, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
10+ years BI/analytics engineering, enterprise reporting, or data warehousing.
6+ years Power BI development with semantic modeling and DAX.
3+ years in lead/architect role with standards and architecture decisions.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or comparable cloud platforms.
Proven mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

Lead design, governance, and optimization of the enterprise analytics architecture.
Establish and maintain best practices for data modeling, security, performance, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Architect scalable analytics solutions for operational, financial, and executive reporting needs.
Partner with Data Engineering to define requirements for curated data models.
Design and optimize dataflows, semantic models, and refresh processes for performance.
Define and maintain role-based security across reporting environments.
Monitor and optimize Microsoft Fabric platform usage and overall BI performance.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews for BI developers.
Develop and maintain architecture documentation, data definitions, and governance standards.
Advise leadership on BI strategy and future-state architecture decisions.
