Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Staff BESS Structural Engineer to design structures and foundations for Battery Energy Storage System facilities, enhancing grid resilience. You will perform structural analysis, collaborate across disciplines, and guide teams on EPC projects in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, a PE license, and 5+ years in utility/renewables or similar fields. Relocation is possible, and sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• Experience with 3D structural analysis for steel and concrete.
• Prefer experience in utility, energy, renewables or related fields.
• Strong communication with internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Execute structural analysis and prepare sketches and drawings for BESS equipment foundations.
• Support EPC projects and assist with procurement specifications.
• Supervise structural engineers and lead production teams on projects.
• Perform site visits, RFIs, and review contractor submittals.
• Coordinate work with other discipline engineers and lead EPC structural efforts up to $50M.
