Job summary

Black & Veatch, a leading engineering firm, is seeking an Associate BESS Structural Engineer in Overland Park, KS. The role centers on design of structures and foundations for Battery Energy Storage Systems, collaborating across disciplines to deliver critical energy infrastructure.

You will execute structural analyses, support fast-paced EPC projects, and participate in site visits and RFI responses while aligning with project leadership and client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET/accredited).
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment checks.
• Experience with structural analysis and design principles.

Responsibilities

• Execute structural analysis and calculations for BESS foundations.
• Prepare drawings and sketches of supporting structures.
• Support EPC projects and procurement processes.
• Assist with construction-phase duties and site visits.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers for project alignment.
• Focus on internal client needs and understand external drivers.
