Job summary

The AES Corporation, a leading US-based power company, seeks a Senior Project Manager BESS (ERCOT) to lead battery energy storage projects within the gas generation portfolio in ERCOT from late-stage development through commercial operation. You will work across a matrixed organization and with external partners to deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective projects while maintaining clear accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field required.
• 10+ years of major-project experience with BESS or electrical infrastructure.
• Experience leading EPC contracts and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead battery systems and related plant interfaces.
• Develop project execution plan, schedule, budget, and risk register.
• Define scopes, RFPs, negotiations, and award.
• Act as Owner’s rep with EPCs, OEMs, utilities and stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across departments.
• Oversee design reviews and safety requirements.
• Manage contractor schedules, budgets and quality plans.
• Track long-lead equipment, logistics, and site readiness.
• Lead status reviews and communicate progress and risks.
• Coordinate regulatory interfaces and commissioning turnover.
• Ensure project records and lessons learned.
• Travel to locations as required.
