Job summary

AES US Renewables & Power seeks a Senior Project Manager BESS (ERCOT) to lead battery energy storage projects from late-stage development through commercial operation. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder interfaces across EPCs, utilities, and suppliers.

The role emphasizes strong safety, project controls, and execution discipline with travel to project sites as needed. A Bachelor’s in engineering or related field and 10+ years of major-project experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 10+ years of major-project experience, including BESS and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of project execution, schedules, budgets, and risk.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and resolve technical/ commercial issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage battery storage project execution from late-stage development to operations.
• Develop and maintain execution plan, schedule, budget, and risk register.
• Coordinate scopes of work, RFPs, bids, and contracts with EPC/OEMs and utilities.
• Act as Owner’s rep with contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
• Oversee safety, quality, and compliance across teams and interfaces.
• Track long-lead equipment, logistics, and site readiness.
• Lead progress reviews and communicate risks and mitigation actions.
