Job summary

Clearway Energy Group seeks an Associate or Senior Associate of BESS Modeling and Structuring to develop advanced quantitative models for BESS valuation, pricing, and market analysis. You will build CWENQuant, develop dispatch optimization, and influence trading, origination, development, and asset management decisions.

The role involves creating data pipelines, conducting market forecasting, and supporting risk management with robust, scalable models in a fast-paced energy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Senior Associate: 3+ years of quantitative or modeling experience in energy sector (trading firms, banks, utilities, IPPs, ISOs, BESS).
• Associate: <3 years of quantitative or modeling experience in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy complex optimization models for BESS dispatch optimization and related energy projects.
• Develop ML/DL models to forecast prices and demand using fundamental variables.
• Maintain gas dispatch, pricing and MTM models; support due diligence and credit analytics.
• Benchmark models against actual outcomes to improve forecast accuracy.
• Build and enhance CWENQuant platform and data pipelines, including dashboards.
