Job summary

Clearway Energy Group seeks an Associate or Senior Associate to develop advanced BESS modeling and structuring, driving valuation, pricing, and market analysis across the US. The role builds Clearway’s internal CWENQuant platform, with optimization models and data pipelines to inform trading, origination, development, and asset management decisions.

You will create stochastic or ML/DL forecasting models, price and GO/HRCO-like structures, and benchmark against market outcomes to improve forecast

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of quantitative or modeling experience in energy for Senior Associate.
• Strong programming and ML/DL experience with Python, R, SQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy complex optimization models for BESS dispatch optimization and market analysis.
• Build stochastic and ML/DL forecasting models for price, load, and generation.
• Develop pricing models and perform mark-to-market analysis for trading and origination.
• Benchmark models against market outcomes to improve forecasts and risk management.
• Support budgeting, trading activities, and market advocacy with modeling insights.
• Enhance CWENQuant platform and data pipelines for automated analyses.
• Analyze forwards vs. actual prices to inform trading strategies and pricing.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver accurate, timely results.
• Stay current with market conditions and industry developments.
