Job summary

Clearway Energy Group in San Francisco, CA seeks an Associate or Senior Associate of BESS Modeling & Structuring to build CWENQuant, develop advanced BESS dispatch optimization, and influence major commercial decisions across trading, origination, development, and asset management.

You will contribute to forecasting and pricing, optimize gas generation, and analyze power markets, collaborating across teams in a hybrid, US-wide role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.
• 3+ years of quantitative or modeling experience in energy trading, generation, or related sectors (Senior Associate).
• Strong programming in Python; experience with ML/DL frameworks and optimization tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy complex optimization models for BESS and related assets.
• Create forecasting and pricing models for DA, Ancillary, and RT prices.
• Build, maintain, and enhance CWENQuant platform and data pipelines.
• Benchmark models against operations and market outcomes to improve accuracy.
• Provide analytical insights to support budgets, trading, and risk management.
