Job summary

Nidec is seeking a Senior BESS Field Service Technician to support utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems across North America. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and assist in commissioning to ensure safe, reliable operation of customer assets.

This role offers exposure to leading-edge storage technologies, opportunities for field leadership, and collaboration with the BESS Project Manager and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in utility-scale BESS and related electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and use advanced electrical test instruments.
• Experience with power electronics, AC/DC systems, and SCADA.
• Must be able to pass a federal background check and work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Safety-conscious with ability to work in diverse field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of utility-scale lithium-ion energy storage systems.
• Lead complex field troubleshooting activities and mentor junior technicians.
• Support emergency call-out response and on-call coverage.
• Interface with Owner/Operator and project team when anomalies occur.
• Prepare service reports and root-cause analyses.
