Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking a Senior BESS Field Service Technician to support utility‑scale battery energy storage systems across Texas and North America. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and emergency response in demanding field environments.

This role offers exposure to cutting‑edge storage technologies, opportunities for leadership and technical specialization, and requires up to 80% travel, hands‑on repair, and strong safety

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of utility‑scale BESS, solar, wind, or power‑generation experience.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and use advanced electrical test instruments.
• NFPA 70E and OSHA‑10 certifications preferred; U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of utility‑scale lithium‑ion energy storage systems and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot BMS, PCS, MV transformers, EMS/SCADA systems and related hardware.
• Remote monitoring and SCADA‑based diagnostics; maintain logs and reports.
• Lead complex field troubleshooting and mentor junior technicians; support emergency call‑out coverage.
• Interface with Owner/Operator and project teams during anomalies and procure parts as needed.
