Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is seeking a Lead Benefits Specialist to perform a wide range of benefit support functions including policy interpretation, retirement administration, regulatory compliance, wellness initiatives, training, and customer service for GCNA and its affiliated entities.

You will train and mentor other Benefits Specialists, collaborate with leaders, HR partners, and third-party administrators, and act as a primary contact for insurance carriers and vendors while

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ related experience with benefits compliance and medical insurance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Capable of handling multiple calls with high volume.
• Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Outlook; strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; self-directed.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret benefit policies and administer benefits and retirement programs.
• Coordinate with Leaders, HR Partners, and third-party admins on eligibility.
• Train and mentor other Benefits Specialists and provide guidance.
• Communicate with team members and carriers about benefits.
• Assist in annual open enrollment planning and vendor coordination.
• Reconcile carrier bills and perform benefit data audits.
• Assist with ERISA reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Resolve benefit data discrepancies and answer routine questions.
