Job summary

Civic Works, Inc. seeks a Benefits Assistance Program/Outreach Coordinator to support older adults through the Elder Services program in Baltimore City. The role blends field and office work, handling a caseload, aiding home repair and support services, and building program awareness.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in case management or human services, strong interpersonal skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel across Baltimore. Mileage is reimbursed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of case management or related human services experience.
• Experience working with older adults.
• Passion for supporting seniors and promoting dignity and independence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dependable, flexible, and self-motivated.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
• Experience with database software or client management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of older adult clients and provide application assistance for home repair and support services.
• Conduct community outreach to identify eligible clients and build program awareness.
• Develop relationships with community groups, agencies, and service providers.
• Participate in events, health/resource fairs, and outreach activities.
• Assist clients with navigating benefits and accessing additional support resources.
• Advocate on behalf of clients and ensure timely follow-up.
• Accurately maintain documentation and case notes.
• Support the planning and execution of outreach events and marketing.
• Travel regularly throughout Baltimore City to meet clients and attend partner meetings.
