Job summary

Marqeta is seeking a Senior Manager, Benefits to own the strategy, design, and operational excellence of our US and global benefits programs. You will lead a lean function and partner with People, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to deliver scalable, high-impact initiatives.

This is a player-coach role with remote or Oakland, CA office flexibility. You will manage annual enrollment, vendor relationships, and governance while driving data-driven decisions to optimize costs and employee experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive US benefits experience, including program strategy and design.
• 3+ years leading a benefits function or managing brokers/vendors.
• Experience with renewal cycles, broker negotiation, and open enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, design, and roadmap for US and global benefits programs.
• Lead benefits budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling with Finance.
• Oversee benefits operations in Workday and coordinate with Payroll.
