Job summary

Global Placement Firm in Washington, DC is seeking an Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Associate to join a premier corporate legal team. The role focuses on executive compensation, employee benefit plans, equity arrangements, and designing retention packages within transactions.

You will conduct legal research, draft documents, manage complex cases from inception to completion, and advise clients while upholding ERISA and governance standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law; AmLaw 100 or similar high-profile firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal analysis of executive compensation and employee benefits matters.
• Prepare and review documentation for equity plans, executive retention packages, retirement and welfare plans, and M&A transactions.
• Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and corporate governance.
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Maintain meticulous records of work product, client communications, and regulatory filings.
