Job summary

Mercy is seeking a senior benefits leader to design, analyze, implement, and administer our health and welfare programs. You will lead complex initiatives, manage vendors, and oversee regulatory reviews while partnering with HR, Finance, Legal, and Payroll to optimize program effectiveness.

With 8+ years in benefits, you will mentor Benefits Consultants and Analysts, translate data into executive recommendations, and help balance cost and compliance across Mercy’s organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, healthcare admin, finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration or total rewards.
• Expertise in health and welfare benefit plan design, administration, and compliance.
• Experience leading complex projects and vendor implementations.
• Advanced analytical skills with benefit utilization, claims, and financial data.
• Experience with Workday and large HRIS platforms.
• Professional certifications such as CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, implement, and administer Mercy's health and welfare programs.
• Lead complex benefit initiatives, vendor management, and regulatory reviews.
• Provide project leadership and mentoring to Benefits Consultants and Analysts.
• Collaborate with HR leaders, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and external vendors to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Develop executive-level recommendations to balance cost and compliance.
