Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking an experienced Benefits Administrator to oversee health and welfare plans and retirement programs. You will analyze data, ensure compliance with ERISA/HIPAA/ACA, and partner with carriers and TPAs to deliver high-quality benefits services.

The role requires strong Excel skills, 5+ years of benefits experience, and the ability to communicate complex information to employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience.
• Experience administering health, welfare, and related plans (COBRA, FSA/HSA, etc.).
• Experience with HRIS/benefits systems (UKG, Workday).
• Experience managing relationships with carriers, brokers, and TPAs.
• Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, DOL, IRS requirements.
• Ability to analyze utilization, cost, benchmarking data.
• Experience supporting annual renewals/open enrollment.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to communicate complex benefits information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administration of health and welfare plans and retirement offerings.
• Analyze benchmarking, utilization, and cost data to identify trends and improvements.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with ERISA/HIPAA/ACA/COBRA and multi-state regulations.
• Liaise with carriers, brokers, and TPAs to monitor service levels.
• Lead benefits administration including health, dental, vision, accounts, COBRA, and tuition assistance.
• Develop benefits communications and training materials for employees.
• Cross-train across benefits areas and support renewal/open enrollment processes.
• Improve HRIS data integrity and related processes.
