Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is seeking a friendly unit/department receptionist to provide clerical and patient-focused support in a day-shift role. You will greet patients and families, manage admissions, scheduling, and chart preparation, and assist the care team with routine tasks.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and related healthcare experience. The role emphasizes strong communication, team collaboration, and adherence to safety and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• Related healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to work the hours specified.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a unit/department resource providing customer service to patients, families, healthcare staff.
• Greet visitors, answer inquiries, direct and assist them.
• Use reception etiquette for telephone, nurses’ desk, paging system and announcements.
• Enter patient admission/registration information and assist with charts, orders, scheduling.
• Assist with transfer and discharge paperwork and coordinate with receiving departments.
• Support RN/LPN/Patient Care Tech to meet patient care needs as requested.
