Job summary

The State of Delaware seeks a Behavioral Health Case Manager III to lead case management in a behavioral health setting, coordinating services for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or addiction to meet personal and health needs.

This casual/seasonal role focuses on specialized administrative functions, including authorization of care coordination services, maintaining electronic plan-of-care records, and conducting quality chart reviews to support unit fidelity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Science or related field.
• Three years' experience in case management for human service needs.
• Three years' experience in clinical treatment or eligibility determination.
• Six months' experience interpreting laws, rules, and procedures.
• Six months' experience in narrative report writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate case management operations in behavioral health or institutional settings.
• Refer cases to appropriate staff to ensure effective service delivery.
• Ensure service quality and provide crisis intervention guidance when needed.
• Analyze operations and recommend policy improvements.
• May maintain a caseload and interview clients and families as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to evaluate treatment plans.
• Prepare narrative statistics and court reports; assist with benefits applications.
• Provide consultative services to agencies and participate in community projects.
• Supervise staff and contribute to staffing decisions.
• Use information systems to research, evaluate, and report on health data.
