Job summary

United Pharma in the United States is seeking an experienced PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer to join a major life sciences automation project. You will develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC software for automated manufacturing systems using Structured Text and Beckhoff technology.

The role involves on-site commissioning and integration with electrical, instrumentation and process engineering teams, with hands-on programming, FAT/SAT support and on-going documentation to meet regulatory

Qualifications

Experience as PLC Programmer, Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer.
Hands-on Structured Text programming.
Experience with Beckhoff / TwinCAT.
Experience with PLC-based automated manufacturing or process equipment.
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences or other regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC software for automated manufacturing systems.
Program PLCs using Structured Text and work with existing automation code and standards.
Work with Beckhoff PLCs and automation technology, including TwinCAT where applicable.
Support the commissioning, testing and start-up of automated equipment and production systems.
Troubleshoot PLC, controls and automation issues during commissioning and site activities.
Review control system documentation, functional specifications, I/O lists and sequence descriptions.
