Job summary

MoveATech Group is seeking experienced Senior Beckhoff Controls Engineers for a major custom automation project in the medical device sector. You will design, develop and commission PLC/HMI software, support testing, troubleshooting and customer training on complex automated machinery.

Travel to Baja, Mexico for installation/commissioning is required; strong Beckhoff experience and a background in Rockwell may be considered. This role involves hands-on engineering across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of Controls Engineering experience.
• Strong background in custom automation or discrete automation.
• Beckhoff PLC/PAC experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting projects from design through commissioning.
• Ability to work onsite and support demanding project schedules.
• Proven PLC and HMI programming experience.

Job description

MoveATech Group is recruiting experienced Senior Beckhoff Controls Engineers for a major custom automation project supporting the medical device manufacturing sector.

This position offers the opportunity to work on the development and delivery of advanced automated production systems, supporting the project from controls design through to commissioning and installation. Candidates will be heavily involved in PLC/HMI development, machine commissioning, troubleshooting and customer support activities.

Industry: Custom Automation / Medical Device Manufacturing

Hours: 40-50 hours per week during design phase, increasing to 50-60 hours during commissioning

Start Date: 28 September 2026

Travel Required: Installation and commissioning support in Baja, Mexico

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC and HMI software for custom automated machinery.

Additional Consideration

Engineers without Beckhoff experience may still be considered if they possess:

• Strong Rockwell PLC experience.
• Experience with Structured Text programming.
• Experience with C# programming.
• Interest in learning and working with Beckhoff platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Beckhoff HMI development.
• Cognex In‑Sight vision systems.
• Robot vision guidance systems.
• Robotic automation integration.
• Servo systems and VFD applications.
• Industrial communications networks including DeviceNet, EtherNet and Profibus.
• Electrical panel design, pneumatics and hydraulic systems.

Travel Requirements

Successful candidates will support installation and commissioning activities in Baja, Mexico.

Applicants should be comfortable with:

• Extended onsite commissioning assignments.
• Working increased hours during commissioning phases.
• Customer‑facing technical support responsibilities.

A valid U.S. passport will be required for project travel.
