Job summary

Alston & Bird LLP in New York seeks a Senior Coordinator to coordinate and execute marketing, business development, and communications initiatives for the Finance and Financial Services practice groups. You will work with the MBD/Practice Management Team to track budgets, prepare materials, and support client presentations and credentials.

You will draft and edit materials, supervise operations staff, and help with RFPs, events, and cross-office initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, marketing, management, communications, or other business-oriented degree.
• 2–3 years marketing/business development and/or practice management experience in a law firm (or professional services firm).
• Preferred: Experience with budgets, financial reporting, and aptitude with numbers and spreadsheets.
• Preferred: Specific experience with transactional or corporate legal practices (corporate, finance, real estate, private equity, funds, investment banking, tax, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute marketing, business development, and communications initiatives for Finance and Financial Services practice groups.
• Track budgets and generate financial reports for practice management.
• Develop materials for prospect/client presentations and respond to requests.
• Draft, edit, and supervise marketing operations to ensure timely, professional delivery.
• Manage credentialing submissions, narratives, and references from lawyers.
• Assist with RFP responses, content organization, formatting, and post-pitch follow-up.
• Coordinate events and travel for practice groups and office events.
• Support integration of new associates and lateral lawyers with bios and orientation planning.
• Collaborate with PR to raise the firm's profile in the market.
• Research and analyze lateral activity, thought leadership, and league tables.
