Job summary

Farnsworth Group seeks a Director of Business Development to drive growth across municipal, commercial, education, healthcare, and other markets. You will lead BD initiatives, collaborate with department heads and marketing, and translate technical insights into strategic opportunities.

The role emphasizes senior leadership, a drive to learn, and the ability to supervise teams while engaging in high-level presentations and networking. Colorado-based with a hybrid work option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years in architecture/engineering consulting or AE design services.
• Self-starter requiring limited oversight.
• Ability to give high-level presentations to internal and external groups.
• Effective team building and collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent networking skills.
• Ability to supervise and direct work of others.
• Strong organization and time management across multiple projects.
• Regional travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Generate new opportunities through presentations, meetings, interviews, and thought leadership.
• Collaborate with national and regional leadership to identify growth strategies for CO.
• Coach project managers to expand networks and grow the business.
• Attend client meetings, events, and conferences to build relationships.
• Develop and review project proposals and collateral.
• Maintain and leverage CRM to capture pursuits and pipeline.
• Align growth strategies with Strategic Action Plans.
