Job summary

Navitas/East Penn seeks a Senior Product Engineer to lead complex battery-pack development from concept to production for commercial, industrial, and automotive applications. You will drive requirements, architecture, interfaces, and validation while guiding cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, and thermal domains.

The role requires strong engineering judgment, leadership, and experience with electro-mechanical products, DFMEA, validation, and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant product development or engineering experience.
• Extensive experience developing complex electro-mechanical products from concept through production.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, thermal, structural, and systems-level engineering principles.
• Experience developing product requirements, architecture, interfaces, validation strategies, and technical specifications.
• Experience leading complex product integration, testing, root-cause analysis, and technical problem resolution.
• Strong engineering judgment and ability to make decisions across multiple technical disciplines.
• Strong technical communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to independently lead complex engineering workstreams with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex battery-pack product development activities from concept through production and launch.
• Develop and refine product requirements, specifications, interfaces, and technical acceptance criteria from system and customer needs.
• Develop and influence product architecture and resolve complex interfaces across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and packaging domains.
• Lead integration activities and make product-level technical decisions within programs.
• Lead major design reviews, technical reviews, and issue-resolution across engineering functions.
• Lead prototype builds, design verification, validation, and simulation-to-test correlation for complex products.
• Drive root-cause investigations for test, field, manufacturing, supplier, and reliability issues and ensure corrective actions.
• Lead product-level tradeoffs involving performance, cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and risk.
• Lead engineering changes through impact analysis, review, validation, and release.
• Lead supplier technical resolution for critical components and interfaces.
• Develop and improve product architecture, layouts, BOMs, specs, standards, and documentation.
• Drive risk identification and mitigation across workstreams.
• Present recommendations and status to engineering and leadership.
• Develop methods and processes to improve product development effectiveness and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across workstreams.
