Qualifications

• Experience in xEV battery systems or component development in a production-intent role.
• Ability to lead cross-functional design reviews with internal HATCI teams, Hyundai Korea R&D Center engineering groups, and external suppliers to drive timely technical decisions.
• Proven experience conducting and producing DFMEA documentation for xEV battery systems.
• Experience managing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and implementing design revisions through milestones.
• Strong knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and supplier quality validation.
• Experience developing and executing DVP&R activities for xEV battery system performance.
• Prior experience with production/stage-gate or Technology Readiness Levels 5–9 equivalent processes.
• Experience with CAD systems and willingness to learn HATCI CAD processes.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications to understand materials/process implications.
• Foundational knowledge of xEV components and high-voltage battery systems.
• Ability to work across many departments and with affiliates to drive collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering projects to develop new high voltage battery systems for EVs.
• Design and development of xEV battery pack systems.
• Project management of battery pack components with design release focus.
• Follow HV battery development standards and document test results.
• Benchmark competitor EVs to guide design targets and costs.
• Communicate battery technologies to Korean Headquarters for programs.
• Coordinate with national labs, universities, and suppliers.
• Monitor industry papers and reports for trends.
• Set goals aligned with department strategy and drive execution.
• Facilitate cross-functional teamwork and clear communication.
• Deliver presentations on milestones and achievements.
• Stay current with new tech to drive innovation.
• Provide technical support for battery system concerns in pre/post production.
• Collaborate with Korea HQ on knowledge transfer.
• Domestic and international travel up to 30%.
