Job summary

Lyten, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Sr. Engineering Technician to support the development, optimization, and daily operation of our battery electrode manufacturing line.

You will work with Process Engineers and R&D to run experiments, operate pilot‑scale equipment, and ensure quality control to sustain high yield and consistency. You will execute DOE trials, monitor critical process parameters, and document SOPs and batch records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or related field with 2+ years of experience OR a Bachelor’s in an unrelated field with 5+ years in R&D or low-volume manufacturing.
• Associate’s degree in related field with 4+ years in R&D or low-volume manufacturing OR Associate’s in unrelated field with 6+ years of experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and real-time equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with standard lab tools (micrometers, viscometers, balances, optical microscopes).

Responsibilities

• Operate pilot-scale electrode manufacturing equipment (planetary/high-shear mixers, slot-die coaters, calender).
• Execute DOE trials and routine production runs under process engineers.
• Perform in-line and off-line quality measurements (viscosity, coating thickness, mass loading, particle size).
• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to minimize downtime.
• Draft and update SOPs, batch records, build logs, and maintenance checklists.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to scale from lab to production.
