Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Senior BAS Controls Design Engineer in Redmond, WA to support building automation for critical facility infrastructure. The role involves reviewing vendor submittals, evaluating sequences of operations and network diagrams, and ensuring compliance with design intent across BACnet, Modbus, DDC, PLC, and SCADA platforms.

The engineer will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and facility teams to develop BAS design packages, standards, and reference designs for hyperscale

Qualifications

• 10+ years of BAS and controls design experience, producing complete BAS design packages including sequences of operations, points lists, controls schematics, network diagrams, panel schedules, and specifications.
• Submittal review against design standards, reviewing BAS vendor/integrator submittals, shop drawings, and controls programming for compliance with design intent, issuing technically grounded comments and dispositions.
• Experience with building automation protocols and controls platforms, hands-on with BACnet and Modbus and with DDC and PLC controls platforms, including network architecture and device-level integration.

Responsibilities

• Review BAS vendor and integrator submittals for compliance with design intent and Microsoft standards.
• Evaluate sequences of operations, points lists, controls schematics, network diagrams, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and device schedules.
• Issue technical review comments and drive resolution through approval.
• Validate controls architectures utilizing BACnet, Modbus, DDC, PLC, and SCADA platforms.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and facility engineering teams.
• Develop BAS design packages, controls schematics, specifications, network topologies, and integration documentation.
• Support building automation solutions within hyperscale data center environments.
• Contribute to controls standards, templates, and reference designs.
